For laughs, I actually changed my costume 3 times over the duration of the night. The wizard costume was brought by Brian and Laina and featured in a pornographic Wizard porn. I refused to put the beard on my face, considering that I'm not sure exactly how many other people have worn it. Not to mention I was thoroughly amused by an entire new concept of "neck beard".
More pictures of everyone from the night. I think Gerald ended up being a Train Conductor rapist by the end of the night. Clarissa wore my Wizard-chan outfit that I made for the Wizard party. Sosa was the ghost of 1976, with hilariously large eyeholes. Andrea started out as some kawaii elf girl, then changed into Officer Jenny, catching Lily/Mudkip on the stairs of my place. And Alina, Laina, Brian and Nikki were random pirate girl(?), B.B.Hood, Piccolo and Sakura, respectively.
Pictures from various games from the night, including the Potion-Making Session. We also had a Post-It/Name Guessing Game where Lily was ecstatic that she was Bella Swan, and Clarissa was Lestat, which she figured out soon after I told her that her character was really gay. Other activities included "Pumpkin Dick", a Halloween version of Fluffy Bunny (which Carolann destroyed all competition at), and some strange game where we made a huge spiderweb by wrapping yarn around various limbs in a circle.
Decorations/Food from around the house.
I actually gathered all these pictures together like... 3 months ago, but sort of forgot all about posting... >___>
Anyway, the year started out with a photoshoot at Loch Haven park, which Miko wanted to check out for doing a possible photoshoot with some friends for Megacon. It was fun wearing my ninja girl again, and sort of inspired me again to want to make some more original costumes.
I also wore Edgeworth, with a new sexyfine wig, which came in very handy when taking many sexyfine pictures with Cassie.
For JACON, I sported a new, super sexy suit I chanced across in a Ross for Edgeworth. I also made Edgeworth's totally official artwork uber gay pink pajamas to wear with Risky Business!Phoenix for the Yaoi PJ Party. I rewore Reno for the casino event, which seemed extremely fitting and I got to have lot of fun acting in character. I also made my very first Tamaki outfit, from the WcDonald's episode, and took a photoshoot in the World's Biggest McDonalds.
Nikki surprised Miko and I by buying us the blue blazers for the normal Host Club outfits, which was a total surprise, since we all had never planned on doing so.This was SUCH a fun photoshoot, I still can't believe we somehow wound up with THREE different photographers, and we got SO many awesome pics from it! :) And it's pretty funny, considering how many times we wound up wearing the blue blazers after this.
Metrocon wound up not being a good con for taking pictures, as proven by the above selections, one of which was a progress picture taken in my bathroom (lol). This was actually the first time I got use of my Robin wig, which I think I actually had about a year before this. I do want to cosplay her more though, I really liked how the makeup came out.
I also wore Mori instead of Tamaki (so that CA could wear Tamaki as she ran events for the con). I did wear Tamaki for Friday' night's dance, sporting a mudkip mask, but I never actually got any pictures of me in it.
AFO was pretty laid back, costume-wise, since I just rewore Blue Blazer Tamaki. Planning-wise was a lot more stressful, since we planned our Ouran panel, which was a full hour event that was a HUGE success and was really encouraging for us to want to do more events in the future.
Laina and I have been wanting to throw pirate party for years, and were happy to finally get the chance to do so for a joint BDay party. I wish I had gotten some nicer pictures of the outfit, which I really liked how it came out. I burned the edges so that they wouldn't fray and would look more "pirate-y", and Lindsey helped me cover a straw hat and sew it into a pirate hat. I definitely want to wear this to a photoshoot sometime to get some more pictures. :)
While preparing for AWA, the girls and I had some rather epic sewing parties at my apartment, which was free for almost 2 weeks while my roommates were on vacation. The nights were full f staying up til 6 in the morning, making bad jokes while watching every single movie of our childhood, and powerful stuff like Play-Doh Mudkips and eating a lot of fucking cereal.
Well, all the hard work definitely payed off, since I was able to make four new costumes for AWA, all of which I totally loved. Maki was awesome because I've always wanted to make a school girl uniform costume, but wasn't able to find anyone that I wanted to cosplay as, until Miko and I watched Airmaster. Our Ouran waiter outfits were a pretty epic adventure, since we made them all in one night via Chinese Sweat Shop-style.
My Mudkip Lolita was a surprising hit, I couldn't believe how many people actually recognized me at the con. The costume itself was a great achievement, definitely the best costume I made in 2007. It was my first time making a corset, stitching ribbon with a sewing machine, and dying a wig with the alchohol/Sharpie method. I also drafted all the patterns for the skirt and wierd lolita arm things. Overall, I am REALLY proud of this outfit, despite its internet origins. :D
I got to cosplay with Meredith for the first time, which was really awesome, since she is a total sweetie. I made Blue Spirit Zuko, which I think looks pretty sharp, even if the outfit is SUPER hot. I still want to remake the mask, though...
Misha followed me and Laina's example and had a Wizard themed party to celebrate his birthday. I was rather happy with the "Wizard-chan" that I whipped up in about an hour and 15 minutes from random shit in my room. : D
The year ended rather epically with Anime South, which was somewhat expected, considering the epic nature of the Anime South from the year before. I made two new outfit, Young Snape, to wear with Meredith's Lily, and Winter Akihiko. Unfortunately, our Persona group wasn't as epic as it was supposed to initially be, but I did have a lot of fun being a complete faggot with Cassie and Miko.
All the costumes I did were really fun to be in, and I wasn't stressed out about them at all. I got to cosplay for the first time with Veronica, who made an awesome and rather voluptuous Angel Starr, be faggots with Cassie, do some power-cosplaying by wearing Christie, Maki AND Snape all on Saturday, and then got to wear Sokka again, which was a vast improvement due to better makeup and ton of sluts for Sokka to pimp. :D
Going through all of my photos from last year that were never posted, and since I was recently reminded that I HAVE a Vox, and that it's totally awesome, so I'm posting the pictures here bit by bit.
This tree was such a hilarious catastrophe. Since we were in the middle of moving into the apartment, we didn't get to water the tree as much as it needed to be watered, so it was dying. So to fix the huge horrible gaping spots where the branches were too spread out, Nikki's friend Anne and I actually TWINED extra branches into the tree.
As an added bonus, the tree was SO crooked that it could not even stand up straight, so we had to prop it up in the corner. By far the most ghetto tree I have ever encountered.
But it's ok, because we decided that we needed a very mighty "angel" to top the tree, which Cassie and I found in a box of my action figures, in the form of Wing Zero from Gundam Wing.
Me- Some awesome Phoenix and Edgeworth paper figures that Clarissa made me.
Laina- Sporting the many pink things she received, and the powerful Crazy Cat Lady pin I gave her.
Mathaeis- Got REALLY excited over the $1 store cop set I gave him and Rissy.
Nikki- With one of the many gifts I spoiled her with, a blue stuffed Penguin
Cassie- Looking fashionable wearing all the bows in the room on her hat, and about to open her Shinjiro wig from me.
Carolann- Looking hot in the Mitsuru wig and coat that Nikki and I got her.
Definitely the most epic pictures of the night, and the best way to end this post: Chino and Brandon Eiffel Towering the $1 Blow Up Alligator I got for Chino, and Brian and Laina looking totally pro.
This was an especially awesome day in my life. It started out with Brian knocking on my bedroom window, with me totally still wearing my Pajamas, proclaiming that "C'mon, we're gonna go eat some pie!" Laina then stepped into my room about 2 seconds later, the conventional way, since she had come in through the front door (my roomate had let her in). Brian then proceeded to open my window and climb into my room, telling me I needed to put on some clothes, so we could all eat some pie. I unfortunately have no photos taken of these events, but they were entirely too hilarious for me to not at least document with words.
We went back to Brian and Laina's house to meet up with our fellow Pie Eaters, and encountered a Parade of Kittens in Laina's living room.
I repeat, MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF PIE.
And we end this with this extremely good picture of all my bros playing their Nintendo DS' in a circle out in front of Target. Please note the very good celebration on Laina's head, which I asked her, if I bought it, if she would wear one with me. Her response was, "Well, if you want to waste a dollar on that, then sure..." And my response was , "Oh, that's not a dollar wasted, I can assure you." :D
The photoshoot I took of Andrea in her Bulma, AKA Hottest Mom Ever, from Dragonball Z. This was my first time experimenting with the Landscape setting on the camera, and I was quite pleased with the results.
Quote from Miko while Nikki and I were playing the I.Q. game at IHOP, "I can't tell if you're acting in character, or are just really serious about that." A little bit of both, most likely. :D
